Dr. Thomas is as a trusted Healthcare and Management Advisor.  Dr. Thomas founded and served as President of Mountain View Pediatrics from 1985 - 2002, a large multi-doctor practice in Morganton, NC. Dr. Thomas played key roles in the startups of Sensory Analytics and ExecuSys, Inc. He served two terms as Chief of Staff of Grace Hospital in Morganton, as well as on several Board of Directors including hospitals and the Morganton-Lenoir Airport Authority (being an avid pilot).

He graduated from the University of Illinois Medical School, then served in the US Navy and was honorably discharged as a Lt Commander & Chief of Pediatrics at the US Naval Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland. Prior Naval assignments were at naval hospitals located in Portsmouth, Chelsea (Massachusetts General Hospital) and Quantico.

Dr. Thomas became involved in the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) after his naval career and prior to starting his medical practices. He performed some of the early NICHD Clinical Trials on Down Syndrome and was featured in some of their literature. During this time, he served as the Medical Director and Director of Birth Defects at Western Carolina Center (now known as the “J Iverson Riddle Development Center). In addition, he taught at Bowman Gray Medical School (Wake Forest) as a Clinical Professor of Pediatrics.
